Joe Perry injured in bike crash
Published: July 18, 2020
Joe Perry was injured in a road accident on Thursday. The Aerosmith guitarist was riding his powerful Ducati Monster 696 motorcycle in Massachusetts when he was hit by a car from behind. According to the Patriot Ledger, a local newspaper where the accident occurred, Joe was sitting at a red light at an intersection, and was beginning to accelerate when the light turned green, but was rear ended by a car at that moment.
Joe was reportedly taken to hospital in an ambulance to receive treatment for a back injury and some minor scrapes. After being treated at Morton Hospital and Medical Center in Middleborough, Joe was released just a few hours later.
“Joe is home and he’s fine,” his spokesperson told the Boston Globe. “All’s well and we’re all grateful.”
Linda O’Brien, the woman driving the Chevy that hit Joe, reportedly didn’t recognize the famous person she hit. When it finally struck her, she couldn’t believe it.
“Of all the people to hit, it had to be a rock star,” FOX News quotes her as saying.
She was cited for driving too closely to another vehicle.
Joe’s injuries are not expected to impact Aerosmith’s upcoming tour.
Other celebrities who have recently been in hospital include Pink, Dean McDermott, Katy Perry and Cheryl Cole.
