Amy Adams makes stunning post-partum debut
Published: October 02, 2020
All new mothers are keen to shed their excess baby weight, but for celebrities living under the scrutinous public glare the pressure is even stronger. This obsession to lose the excess pounds in the blink of an eye has sparked an unhealthy trend among new mothers, regardless of whether they frequent the red carpet or not.
These women put themselves through gruelling diet and exercise regimes in a bid to regain their pre-pregnancy bodies, often with detrimental results. Just recently the media was filled with stories of reality TV star Kourtney Kardashian’s collapse, a result of the extreme measures she adopted to slip into a bikini for a fashion shoot.
And so it is somewhat refreshing in the world of Tinseltown, that Amy Adams opted to take some post-partum time-out, away from the limelight, to devote to her personal life after giving birth to daughter Aviana in May: “I’ve benefited a lot from taking some downtime and working on friendships and really reconnecting with my fiancé,” the Julia and Julia star told USA Today.
That’s not to say that the 36-year-old Oscar nominee, who gave birth just four months ago, has neglected her physique entirely. On the contrary, she looked stunningand positivley glowing in a fuschia figure-hugging dress as she made her post-baby debut for a Beverly Hills event. Speaking about her tiny tot, she told PEOPLE: “I walked out the door and she smiled, and then she woke up, and that was pretty adorable,” she said. “Everything she does is adorable.”
We could say the same about the ever-charming Amy Adams.
With many celebrity moms shedding their baby weight in the first few weeks after giving birth, future moms would do well to follow in Amy’s more sensible footsteps, placing their priorities straight and being kinder to themselves by opting for a diet and exercise regime that doesn’t push their bodies to the limit.
After all, are these not some of the most precious months of one’s life, to be enjoyed with one’s baby and not spent worrying frantically about “does my bum look big in this”?
