Anal cancer starts in the rectum, the very end of a person’s digestive system. The anus is the channel connecting the large intestine to the sphincter, through which a person can expel bowels.
If found in its early stages, this type cancer is highly treatable.

While benign tumors in a person’s anal region aren’t necessarily uncommon, they should still be monitored by a health professional.
What are the symptoms?

- Discharge from the anus
- A lump or sense of pressure in the anus
