Gisele Bundchen quits smoking for a new taste for life

It’s a known fact that smoking has serious effect on our health, which also includes our taste bud. Smoking makes food less pleasing to the taste so that smokers end up losing weight. It deadens the taste bud. The food, however well prepared or tasty it may be, but the smoker is not able to extract the exact pleasure out of it. Gisele Bundchen, a Brazilian model was also a victim of deadened taste buds.
Thaindian.com quotes Gisele as saying: “I was smoking a pack and a half of cigarettes a day and eating cheeseburgers all day. I was treating my body, which is my temple and my best friend, as my worst enemy.”
The highest paid model and the sixteenth richest woman in the entertainment world finally gave up smoking and revealed that she is really proud, as she has relieved herself from her fatal addiction. The most enticing part that she believes is that she is now able to enjoy her food.
After reportedly gaining 15lbs after quitting smoking, Vogue.com quotes Gisele as saying: “I’m never smoking again.“
“It’s been eight months and I’m very proud of myself.
“The only thing is that I have dreams about food now… You should quit smoking if you’re smoking, because food tastes a lot better after you quit.
She also advised people to quit smoking to enjoy their food a lot more. She gave her own example that she used to hate oysters because they’re slimy and disgusting looking. But admitted that after she gave up her addiction, she tasted oyster once and now she is obsessed with it.
“I used to hate oysters because they’re slimy and disgusting looking,” she said.
“But then after I quit smoking I tasted it one time and I’m obsessed with it now.
“I wanna eat three dozen, five dozen. I don’t know what to do… They’re delicious.”
Bundchen, who was once criticized for her smoking habit was termed as role model to smokers who want to kick the habit. Thus, by battling against her addiction, the stunning model not only gained a status of role model but is also able to enjoy the finer things in life, like delicious cuisines. Sounds worth it to us.
