Jessica Simpson opens up about engagement number two

Jessica Simpson’s personal life has always been at the center of media speculation and when it comes to her relationships, it would be fair to say the star has had her share of being unlucky in love.

In 2002 Simpson married Nick Lachey but the couple divorced three years later. She has had a string of high profile relationships since then and they have all provided fodder for unsavoury headlines. The 30 year old dated Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and she was blamed when he performed poorly on the field, earning the nickname “Yoko Romo”.

Earlier this year she was left stunned and deeply upset when her ex-boyfriend John Mayer revealed explicit details about their sex life in an interview with Playboy. “Sexually it was crazy. That’s all I’ll say,” he said. “It was like napalm, sexual napalm. Did you ever say, ‘I want to quit my life and just f*****’ snort you? If you charged me $10,000 to f*** you, I would start selling all my s*** just to keep f****** you.”  So muh for showing a bit of respect to your ex.

In May this year the singer started dating former NFL player Eric Johnson and within seven months she had an engagement ring wrapped around her finger. She opened up on CBS’s The Early Show on Monday about the emotional, whirlwind proposal, saying: “I had to sit on his knee I was shocked. To really get what was happening. I didn’t even try the ring on until five minutes in. I just sat there and cried with him.”
Johnson popped the question with a ruby ring and Jessica explained the rubies are her birth stone. “I’ve already done the traditional thing,” she said, referring to her marriage with Nick Lachey. “I wanted to do something that was different.”
Let’s hope this relationship also has a different outcome! Do you thing the singer may be rushing into things?
