Kirsten Dunst entered rehab to seek treatment depression

Depression surpasses all boundaries. Many celebrated actors suffer from depression, and one such celebrity is Kirsten Dunst. Even though celebrities have successful careers, many times their personal lives see them battle many conflicts.

‘Spiderman’ star Kirsten Dunst is among the famous victims of depression in Hollywood. Having already become a household name in Hollywood as a child after starring in movies like ‘Interview With A Vampire’, she was thrown into the pressure-filled profession.

Kirsten strongly believes that her dependence on other’s approval is the root cause of her depression. But like a true inspiration for many of us, Kirsten her problem. She said: “Mental illness doesn’t know any such boundaries. We’re all in the same boat together. Depression is pretty serious and should not be gossiped about.”

Unlike many other celebrity victims of depression, Dunst spoke publicly about her depression because she felt that there is nothing to be embarrassed about. The gossip mills started rolling when Kirsten entered a famous rehabilitation center. Though people thought she suffered from drug and alcohol abuse, in reality she was there to battle her depression. Kirsten’s denial came in the form of an interview to E! in which she set the record straight: “I didn’t go to Cirque Lodge for alcohol abuse or drug abuse. I went there for depression”.

Kirsten Dunst was never ashamed of her rehabilitation visit and admitted: “I was struggling, and I had the opportunity to go somewhere and take care of myself, I was fortunate to have the resources to do it. My friends and family thought it was a good idea, too. But I didn’t know where to go. My doctor recommended Cirque Lodge.”

After her successful stint in rehab, Kirsten came out saying: “I wasn’t taking care of myself emotionally. I wasn’t expressing my anger,” she says. “I was making nice all the time.”

Now with all the regained confidence and independence, Kirsten leads a happy professional and personal life and expressing her feelings in an interview to Harper’s Bazaar she says: “I’m great. I don’t want to go into too much detail because I give a quote and then it’s blogged about for the rest of my life on the internet.”
