Published: January 01, 2021
Lindsay Lohan is another prime example of a celebrity who was successful at an early age and has, specifically because of that, come to have many issues. She made her acting debut in the American soap opera ‘Another World’ when she was 10, and one year later played the role of the sly identical twins in ‘The Parent Trap’.
Her career continued to soar when she landed leading roles in movies like ‘Mean Girls’, ‘Herbie: Fully Loaded’, ‘Freaky Friday’, ‘Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen’ and ‘A Prairie Home Companion’. In 2004 Lohan even launched a pop career, releasing two albums that earned praise.
A troubled personal life can form the foundation of depression. Many famous faces have been victims of depression including actors, TV personalities and writers. Celebrities with constant media attention usually lead a stressful life, which they cannot avoid.
Though some celebrities enjoy this pressure, many buckle under it. Lindsay suffered from depression and took help of self-mutilation to express her painful and distressed phase. In order to deal with the media attention and get over her failed relationships, Lindsay also took to consuming drugs (read more about Lindsay’s addictions).
Lindsay is one such celebrity who was known for her high profile partying and clubbing which dragged her to this sadistic path of drug addiction and depression. The media was covering her partying lifestyle more than it was talking about her career.
Of her hardcore partying and excessive drug intake phase the 23-year-old says: “I was going through a lot of stuff and not thinking about my body… I nearly died!”
Lindsay, who was involved in car accidents and arrests relating to her substance abuse, has entered rehab to seek help for her addictions.
Known for her controversial life, Lindsay Lohan’s depression story finds its roots in her unguided and ignored childhood.
“Everyone has highs and lows that they have to learn from, but every morning I start off with a good head on my shoulders, saying to myself, ‘It’s going to be a good day!’
Other clinically depressed celebrities include Jim Carrey, J.K. Rowling, Halle Berry, Hugh Laurie and Owen Wilson.
