Rehab helps Ben Affleck overcome alcohol addiction

Ben Affleck is a man of many talents. A celebrated actor, screenwriter and director, Ben was among the most talented Hollywood had to offer. Rising to fame in Kevin Smith movies ‘Chasing Amy’ and ‘Mallrats’, Ben achieved his big breakthrough for co-writing the screenplay for ‘Good Will Hunting’ with Matt Damon. Both received an Oscar and endless recognition for their efforts.
Just four years later, Ben was in rehab – news that caught many of his fans the world over by surprise, as many were not aware he had a problem. Even some of his closest friends didn’t realize Ben was suffering from an addiction to alcohol, even though his lifestyle, which was one constant party, might have hinted at it.
Realizing he had a problem, Ben called a friend to let him know he wanted help, PEOPLE reports. Through friends and contacts, the then-29-year-old was put in touch with Charlie Sheen, who had battled his addictions in rehab several years earlier. Charlie drove Ben to Promises in Malibu to obtain the treatment he needed to overcome his addiction.
The Promises center specializes in providing treatment to alcohol addicts and other co-occurring disorders. It aims at providing high-end treatment programs and is centre for people who want to change their dependency on drugs and gain control of their lives through the treatment programs. Famous faces like Britney Spears and Robert Downey Jr. underwent treatments to sober up at the Malibu centre.
At the center, Ben underwent a 30-day treatment program of detoxification and daily sessions of group and individual therapy as well as physical workouts. Ben Affleck bravely recovered from the alcohol addiction and again started working with same passion, dedication and commitment to continue his spree of successes and claim the top spot once again.
