Seinfeld actor Len Lesser dies aged 88
Published: February 17, 2021
The world has lost another comedic great with the passing of Len Lesser, best known for his recurring role as Uncle Leo on Seinfeld. He died from cancer-related pneumonia.
Although his career spanned a good 60 years and he played many roles on TV classics such as The Monkees, Get Smart, Mad About You, Boy Meets World and Everybody Loves Raymond, it’s his shouts of “Jerry! Hello!”, with his arms outstretched in excitement, for which he will always be fondly remembered.
Len wasn’t only a laugh-inducing man with perfect comic timing, he was a fine dramatic actor too and some of his film credits include Kelly’s Heroes, Birdman of Alcatraz and Death Hunt.
“Heaven got a great comedian and actor today,” his daughter Michele said in a statement released by the family.
“The outpouring of sympathy we’ve already received has been amazing and is so greatly appreciated.
“Thank you to all the people who helped make my father’s last journey special and surrounded with love.”
