Vanity unfair for Jessica Alba
Published: October 08, 2020
Two years after giving birth to her daughter, Honor-Marie, 29 year old Jessica Alba is reportedly complaining that she no longer has sex appeal. She has even said that she is one of the least attractive actresses in Hollywood.
In an interview with GQ magazine she said, “My breasts are saggy, I’ve got cellulite, my hips are bigger – every actress out there is more beautiful than me.”
But is this merely modesty or a cry for attention?
Certainly the California born actress has garnered a lot of attention in the past from popular male magazines such as FHM who voted her “sexiest woman in the world”, and Maxim who voted her number 1 in their “Hot 100” section.
Her past also indicates that there may be personality issues. Having suffered heavily with illness as a child she missed a lot of school which never gave her the opportunity to mix properly with other children and led her to feel isolated.
Her father was an air force man and the family often had to move which also added to her feeling of isolation and detachment.
These conditions alone could lead to certain attention seeking disorders such as “histrionic personality disorder” or “narcissistic disorder”. The need for attention and reassurance is not uncommon, especially amongst actors who revel in the limelight. Perhaps what we’re seeing here is Jessica’s vanity born of insecurity, although that didn’t stop her posing naked for her new film Machete.
Let us know your thoughts? Is Jessica Alba vane or is she being a down to earth mum? Or was her quote perhaps taken out of context?
