Brian McFadden and “angel” Delta Goodrem break up

Former Westlife star Brian McFadden and his Australian singer fiancee, Delta Goodrem, have decided to call it quits on their four-year relationship. Fortunately, if their joint statement is anything to go by, there are no bad feelings between the two - their decision to go their separate ways is mutual and amicable.
As is increasingly the norm these days, news of the break up became public knowledge via Twitter, with 30-year-old Brian posting: “I love Delta and always will. She is one of God’s living angels. I thank her for giving me the best years of my life. Please give us time x”
Brian, who moved down South to be with Delta, 26, also recently poured out his heart on Twitter with a Valentine’s message, giving no indication that there was any trouble brewing in the love front: “Happy valentine to the most beautiful thing to ever arrive on this planet. My angel, my soul mate, my best friend, my life. @delta_goodrem x’
They first met in 2004, when Brian — at the time still married to former Atomic Kittens singer Kerry Katona, and with whom he has two children — asked Delta to sing a duet with him.
Well, their days as a duet are over…
“Delta Goodrem and Brian McFadden regretfully announce that they are no longer engaged, and after much consideration, have mutually decided to end their relationship,” their joint statement reads.
“This decision has been made with a lot of soul searching from both parties with the realisation that they have grown apart.
“They leave the partnership with respect for one and other, wishing each other success and happiness for the future.”
