Family Believe Abstinence Killed Amy Winehouse
Published: July 28, 2020
It will be another four weeks before the toxicology report is released that will hopefully conclude the cause of contemporary jazz singer/songwriter, Amy Winehouse’s death, but her parents believe that it might have been their daughter’s lack of booze that could be responsible for her recent and rather tragic demise, following a highly publicised rise and downfall, the minutiae of which was brutally reported in the media.
People who suffer alcohol dependency are advised to gradually reduce the quantities of alcohol that they imbibe in order that their bodies can assimilate the changes. Amy’s previously drug addled and frail body was unable to handle the dramatic change and massive withdrawal from alcohol, it is thought, causing a seizure that killed her.
Amy’s folks believe that she may have gone cold turkey from booze and that this caused her unfortunate death last weekend. Unfortunate indeed, if that’s the case.
According to ‘a close source’, “Abstinence gave her body such a fright they thought it was eventually the cause of her death.”
During a eulogy for his daughter during the funeral that took place on Tuesday, Mitch spoke about Amy having beaten her battle with drugs and alcohol, saying that she hadn’t drunk for three weeks prior to her death.
Other claims however, state that she was drinking spirits a couple of days prior to her death when she appeared at her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield’s gig at London’s Roundhouse, not far from her home in Camden Town, London.
“Three years ago,” said Mitch, “Amy conquered her drug dependency, the doctors said it was impossible but she really did it. She was trying hard to deal with her drinking and had just completed three weeks of abstinence. She said, ‘Dad, I’ve had enough of drinking. I can’t stand the look on your and the family’s faces any more’.”
According to The Sun – a trashy UK red-top juicepaper, a source reported that Mitch had said “the shock of giving up, and everything she had been through over a bad few years was just too much for her to take.”
Amy’s doctor had given her a clean bill of health the day before she died but the sudden change from excessive alcohol consumption to nothing can shock the body, leading to convulsions and breathing issues. It is known that the chanteuse already suffered with emphysema, but continued to smoke tobacco despite this.
Police in London are currently piecing together the final few hours of the singer’s life and there are rumour’s hot off the juice mill (as reported in another trashy red-top UK newspaper) that Amy may have met with a man whose identity is unknown, several hours before her death.
