Uma Thurman’s stalker arrested for defying court order
Published: December 01, 2020
Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction star Uma Thurman has once again been stalked by Jack Jordan, two years after he was issued with a court order to leave her alone.
The former psychiatric patient was convicted in 2008 after stalking Thurman and has apparently tried to contact her again despite the court order which was issued to protect her from Jordan who continually made unrequited advances and sent chilling letters which contained disturbing drawings of Thurman digging a grave for him while he walked on a razor blade.
Jordan was taken to New York last week after his latest arrest in a Washington suburb. The case prosecutor, Brooklyn district attorney’s office, said he was charged with violating his restraining order after calling the actress’s office.
Jordan’s former lawyer, a New York attorney who represented him in the previous case has said he hasn’t heard from his client regarding the new arrest and it is currently unclear as to whether he has a lawyer or not.
Jack Jordan is a former lifeguard and pool cleaner with an English degree which he gained at the University of Chicago. He also has a history of mental health problems.
He was sentenced to three years probation in 2008 and warned not to attempt contact with the Oscar-nominated Pulp Fiction actress for at least five years.
Lucille Baur, a Montgomery County police spokeswoman said that arresting officers were taken to Jordan’s room where he was sitting at a computer, allegedly searching for Uma Thurman related items in Google.
The arrest went without incident and Jordan is now awaiting a December 21 extradition hearing.
According to witness statements he previously sent strange letters and cards to Thurman, contacted her family and employees, attempted to enter her trailer on one of her film shoots and even showed up at her Manhattan home late one night.
Subsequently Jordan was convicted of stalking and harassing the actress throughout 2005 to 2007. Uma Thurman told jurors at the trial she was “completely freaked out” by his behaviour.
