Pink is desperate to quit smoking
Published: January 25, 2021
Pink began her sensational pop career in 2000 with an “I don’t care” attitude and a hit single – “There You Go”. Since then the 30-year-old has enjoyed a wide-ranged international success. Her website pinkspage.com claims the star has sold 23 million albums worldwide and having eight Top Ten single in the U.S., not to mention several Grammy and MTV Video Music Awards. Her fans love her for her honest and sometimes emotional songs as well as her tough attitude.
One thing that has highlighted her badass image is her smoking habit. In a move targeting towards her career and her health, she has now decided it is time to quit smoking.
Viewlondon.co.uk quotes the star as saying: “Smoking isn’t cute at all… It’s awful. I hate the smell, the taste. I hate everything about it.”
Identifying smoking as her final vice, she says she was at first hesitant when it came to the decision. “I’m an asthmatic singing smoker! But, for some reason, I look at it as the last remaining bit of me.”
She has asked those close to her to help her quit, by “rationing” the amount of cigarettes she is allowed to smoke. The star claims this has proven successful so far, with her no longer smoking at home, and only when out with friends.
Thaindian.com quotes her as saying: “I’ve definitely cut way back. At night, when I’m out drinking my wine, I’ll have cigarettes rationed to me. But I don’t smoke at home.”
Here’s hoping Pink, whose real name is Alecia Moore, manages to kick the habit. She can follow the example of other celebrities who have quit smoking, including Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Ellen DeGeneres, Debra Messing and Drew Barrymore.
