Lindsay Lohan’s health ‘at risk’ when she leaves rehab
Published: October 23, 2020
Lindsay Lohan still has a few months to go before leaving rehab, but her management is already busy lining up projects for her. Now, the 24-year-old’s friends have said they are concerned that plunging straight back into work after intensive treatment is only going to be detrimental to her health.
Lindsay “shouldn’t be working the first week. She shouldn’t be working the first couple months. She needs to be attending daily meetings to stay on track for sobriety,” one friend told TMZ. Another added: “Lindsay needs to focus on herself for some time.”
The comments came after the actress herself said she was worried that extensive time as an inpatient in rehab could be damaging to her career. At her most recent hearing yesterday, Lohan was told she would have to stay in rehab until at least January 3 2011.
Court papers seen by TMZ state: “The defendant says her clothing line is falling apart because she is not available to monitor the product.”
Additionally, LiLo said she was due to begin filming a new movie in November, but according to the news provider the director said he will wait for her.
The person in charge of writing the documents told TMZ that although Lindsay has desribed the stint as a positive experience, she “needs to continue to work on her issues in order to save her life.”
Over the past year, Lohan has been in all kinds of renewed trouble with the law. After attending a rescheduled DUI (driving under the influence) progress report hearing in May, she was told she had to attend alcohol education classes, wear an alcohol-monitoring bracelet and participate in random drugs tests in order to remain free on bail.
At a hearing in July, the judge found that the actress had violated several terms and sentenced her to 90 days in jail plus a 3-month stint in rehab. She served 14 days in jail and stayed in rehab for 22.
In September, LiLo failed a drugs test and was hauled back to jail, where she stayed just one day before being granted bail. She then voluntarily entered the Betty Ford Center to begin treatment. Her next hearing in scheduled for February 25 next year.
