Sylvester Stallone sustains neck injury
Published: January 12, 2021
Don’t think that Sylvester Stallone is letting his age stop him. The Rambo star might be 63 years old, but his lust for stealthy action scenes has not dwindled.
Sly, as he is fondly referred to by the media, broke his neck while filming a fight sequence with former wrestler Steve Austin for his new movie, The Expendables. The injury was so severe that the muscleman had to have emergency surgery and had a metal plate inserted into his neck, according to British tabloid The Sun, who quoted Stallone as saying:
“My fight was so vicious I got a hairline fracture in my neck. I had to have a very serious operation.”
Apparently age has nothing to do with it, as this is not the first time Sly has sustained injuries during filming. Associated Content reported that he had suffered a severe blow in 1985 during a boxing scene which left him close to death. Stallone’s heart swelled up so much that if he had not received immediate medical attention, he would have died, according to the news provider.
Despite the setback, the film is still thought to hit theatres this summer. And with an impressive cast including wrestler and plastic surgery addict Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis and Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger, action junkies will not be left unsatisfied.
Other celebrities who have had plastic surgery include Pamela Anderson, Heidi Montag, Dita von Teese, Megan Fox, Demi Moore and Sharon Osbourne.
