Marc Anthony talks about split from Jennifer Lopez

Marc Anthony has opened up about his recent split from wife of 7 years, Jennifer Lopez. In an interview with ABC News, the latino singer said there was nothing scandalous behind the separation.
“I’ll tell you that it wasn’t something sensationalistic happening,” he said.
According to a source close to the them, the couple had been arguing non-stop for months and decided to go their separate ways for the sake of their kids. On top of that, there were apparently issues on a movie set, envy on the set of American Idol and times when Lopez thought her husband was being unfaithful - a claim that Anthony says is “absolutely not” true.
“It was a realization on both our parts. So you know it wasn’t shocking. These things happen,” he says. “It was a decision that we made jointly.”
“This is not a funeral. This is not a burial,” he continues after having expressed the intention of continuing to work on the reality show Q’Viva! The Chosen co-starring his now estranged wife. “This is just two people who came together and just realized – and so I’m saying that it wasn’t sustainable the way it was, and that’s that.”
Anthony, 42, says he will continue to be a good father to his children - twins Max and Emme. ”I’m always going to be Daddy. And they’re used to me traveling and Jennifer traveling and, you know, we speak all the time, and try to maintain that presence.”
Asked whether he still loves Lopez, 41, he replies: “I’ll always love Jennifer. Yes. I’ll always love Jennifer. She knows that. Jennifer’s a wonderful, wonderful woman, a wonderful mother, a wonderful friend, you know. We understand this to be a long story. This is not a short story.”
What does he mean by that? - That he has always been and will continue to be there for the latin diva.
“I think anybody will tell you how I supported her, from day one. I’m really, really happy for her,” he says. “We’re going to be in each other’s lives for many, many, many years, and I’m glad that our friendship is that strong.”
In any case, both are putting on a brave face. Anthony spent some in Colombia, where he delivered an upbeat performance and even joked about his marital woes on-stage. “They’re saying I’m single,” he apparently told the audience. But reports from Bogota say the star was unusually distant.
Of a similar age, both of Puerto Rican descent, both Latin artists with a musical background, they had more in common than the often bizarre couplings that Hollywood attracts. Think Jeff Goldblum and his teeny girlfriend (recently split), Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones etc.
